On My Workbench

This page is an attempt to show exactly what I am currently engaged on, though it is not always clear cut because I often work on more than one at once.

Current Project - Pampas & Fernandez (On30)

I have recently completed work on the station roof, this is a perspex menu holder scrounged from my local pub and the girders are cut from a plastic carton. I will soon be turning my attention to some coach kits as the scenic work on the layout is nearing completion.

Also part of the FCPyF - Puerto del Sastre (On30)

Over on the CRM Forum we are running a contest to build a layout with exactly 200 sleepers in 200 days, The track is now laid, the next step will be wiring it up. When completed both FCPyF layouts will be operated together where space permits.

The real Puerto Sastre is in Paraguay but mine is fictional, the name being an approximate translation for Taylor's Port.

Also working on - North Somerset Brewery (OO)

This small shunting puzzle is not going to be one of my collection, I am building it for an old friend who is an armchair modeller in need of a layout.

Other work in progress - Hayfinch Exchange Sidings (O9)

While I am currently Gn15-less I am carrying on the Hayfinch theme in O9 scale instead. The 9mm gauge track in O scale is about half the size of Gn15 so a slightly more complex layout than I normally model for the Hayfinch Estate can be built in a small area. The trackplan is a 3-2-2 Inglenook type design with an off stage sector plate capable of holding the loco and two wagons. This project is currently taking a back seat as I need to get the Pampas & Fernandez finished for an exhibition in March.
